Session 3 Reflections..what do today's learners need?

Really enjoyed my first REAL time session today. Feeling s little less anxious about "What have I missed?"..

Disruption..Hmm...was a very interesting discussion that one. It is slightly ironical that companies like Apple who are major 'disruptors' can themselves be 'disrupted' unless they continue to
INNOVATE.

But , that innovation has to be meaningful and relevant as well Innovation for the sake of it meets with a lukewarm response..Apple watch comes to mind

Is the Apple Watch really useful?

Main points I took away from today:

• Creativity and Critical Thinking are key competencies for our learners.
• Computational Thinking is more important than learning to code.
• Primary teaching is one of those professions under very little threat of being disrupted as computers cannot teach a child to think emotionally or critically.
• A good understanding( basic maybe but solid) of the 2 models of teaching and learning SAMR and TPACK
• A much better understanding of how to approach the first assignment.
